The Future of Business is Warehouse Automation

Everyone seems to be talking about warehouse automation these days, from concerns about the potential for robots and automation to take over previously human-led processes to businesses eager to capitalize on the productivity gains promised by the latest automated technologies. The rise of warehouse automation could have a wide range of consequences. The process of automating the transportation of inventory into, within, and out of warehouses to consumers with little human intervention is known as warehouse automation.

A corporation can reduce labor-intensive tasks such as repetitive physical labor and manual data input and analysis as part of an automation initiative. Warehouse automation automates processes using software and technology such as robotics and sensors. These goods can be used in conjunction with other tools, such as inventory management software. The automation sector has witnessed greater availability of new warehouse-automation breakthroughs, supply chain as a service models, and technology that integrates numerous solutions to assist retailers handle some of these difficulties.

Warehouse automation is widely appreciated and being worked on due to a number of reasons: reduces human error, minimizes labor, standardize security, improve inventory management, enhance customer experience. We believe warehouse automation is the future of warehouse business and the advent of e-commerce has increased demand for warehouse automation across sectors. High consumer expectations for service and customization can be met by retailers who innovate in this arena. A systematic method aids in determining their existing situation, identifying available and appropriate choices, and implementing warehouse automation and utilization, which includes utilizing analytics allowed by warehouse automation. Companies may choose the best automation for their warehouses using these information.

What is Business SWOT Analysis

DDS SWOT Analysis

You may have heard the term "SWOT analysis" if you’ve ever worked in a corporate office setting. This has nothing to do with analyzing militarized police enforcement response units and everything to do with examining your business in-depth. S.W.O.T. is an acronym that stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. A SWOT analysis is an organized list of your business’s greatest strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Strength

  • What your business excels at
  • Characteristics that set you apart from your competition
  • Internal resources include competent and knowledgeable personnel.
  • Intellectual property, cash, proprietary technology, and other tangible assets
Weakness

  • Things your business is missing
  • Things that your competitors excel at
  • Resources are limited.
  • Uncertainty about the unique selling proposition
Opportunity

  • Specific product markets that are underserved
  • There aren’t many competitors in your neighborhood.
  • Needs for your products or services that aren’t being met yet
  • Your company’s press/media coverage
Threat

  • Competitors on the rise
  • The regulatory climate is changing.
  • Press/media coverage that is negative
  • Changing client perceptions of your business
You’ll have a good approach for prioritizing the tasks you need to perform to build your business if you take the time to complete a SWOT analysis. You may believe you already know all you need to succeed, but a SWOT analysis will drive you to look at your company with an angle of 360 degrees and from new perspectives. You’ll examine your strengths and limitations, as well as how you may use them to take advantage of market opportunities and threats.

How Cybercrime and Threat Can Impact the Business

The average cost of a cyberattack in 2021, according to IBM Security, was $4.20 million*. This number alone should convince both large-scale organizations or SMEs that cyberthreats must be handled seriously. Cybercrimes are very much a threat to any business that uses the internet to operate or control any element of its operations, especially IT businesses which is entirely linked to the online/cloud world. Maintaining the cybersecurity of customer or partner database stored on cloud or internal networks should be a top priority for businesses.

Just like tech, cyberattacks are becoming gradually enhanced. Their aim is most often monetary gain. Recovering from a cyberattack is a painstaking and long procedure that results in being extremely costly.

  • Social engineering is to trick individuals into giving the attackers access to their internet accounts or computers. The goal of these cyber assaults is to get individuals to click on a malicious link or file. Phishing is the most popular form of social engineering as it tricks users into disclosing personal information.
  • Malware is a type of malicious software that infiltrates systems and networks with the intent of compromising and potentially stealing data. That is the most common cyberattack which is continuously evolving.
  • DDoS (distributed denial of service) is a common exploit used by cyber criminals to extort money. A DDoS threat occurs when hackers flood a victim’s network with traffic that their servers can’t manage, leading the network to breakdown and become unavailable to customers and workers, resulting in downtime as well as financial and reputational harm. In exchange for restoring the network to its prior state, the hackers then demand payment.

A security breach may be classified into three types of consequences: financial, reputational, and legal.

  1. Theft of confidential data: Businesses will often pay expenditures connected with fixing compromised systems, networks, and devices as a result of the breach.
  2. Reputational Damage: Cybercrimes have the authority to deteriorate your company’s goodwill and destroy your consumers’ faith in you.
  3. Legal consequences of a cyber breach Data protection and privacy rules require you to keep track of the security of any personal information you have about your employees or clients. You might face penalties and regulatory punishments if sensitive data is unintentionally or intentionally compromised.

A successful cyber attack would be devastating to your company. It may have an impact on your financial line, as well as your company’s reputation and consumer trust. Recovering a business from cyberattacks is expensive and can have a negative influence on the company’s connection with its consumers. Businesses will have to keep one step ahead of cybercrime as it gets more sophisticated and advanced.

The Importance of Business Analysis

The Importance of Business Analysis

A client recently asked me why its important to have Zoho Partners. She wondered why people cannot just implement their project using the Zoho Technical Support. Well, the answer is that some Partners, like Delta Data Services (DDS), play the role of the business analyst.

Do you know what a business analyst is? Well its one of those roles on a project that is often overlooked by small and medium sized businesses but which is imperative to the success of any project. Large companies implementing projects always have project managers and business analysts on their projects.

In this blog, we highlight some articles written about business analysis. Business analysis essentially boils down to a communications role among the technical people (at Zoho, for example) and the client, ensuring complete requirements are communicated among stakeholders (via the business analyst), implemented per requirements by the technical team and thoroughly tested (by the business analyst and the client). No project should progress without clear indication of what person will be running the role of business analyst in implementation.

I liken the role of the business analyst to the importance of meditating. Before your discover it, you may not see its value. But when you discover it, you will never go without it again. The business analyst brings the ‘calm’ to the project by ensuring all stakeholders are heard and translated to each other and that the project runs smoothly.

Here are some articles we found relating to business analysis and some quotes from them that we liked best:

What is a business Analyst?

Without a Business Analysis, web development looks the same as traveling without knowing your final destination. In the case of traveling, this may seem like an incredible adventure while, in business, the risk would not be one worth taking. Before starting with a project estimation, you should clearly understand the goals and imagine the results that you’d like to achieve. Developers are not oracles and have no way of knowing exactly what it is you want.

Business analysts are responsible for bridging the gap between IT and the business using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders.

https://www.cio.com/article/2436638/project-management-what-do-business-analysts-actually-do-for-software-implementation-projects.html

The maximum amount of efficiency that a BA can add to a project team is often overlooked. While the development team defines the technical solution, the BA provides timely information, clarifies questions, eliminates obstacles and roadblocks and ensures the technical solution is progressing and moving towards meeting the stakeholder’s expectations. Developers are grateful when their project team includes an experienced BA.Many developers or coders want to do just that…code. It is not productive to have developers participate in lengthy requirement discussions. Developers or individuals with a technical background sometimes speak in technical terms or want to design a solution before knowing the full scope of requirements. This often causes some confusion or disconnect with the business users. The BA understands the level of detail needed for developers to be able to bridge that gap between business requirements and technical requirements. The development team is fully capable of working with the business users to clarify requirements but this can cause inefficiencies, project delays, and rework. Projects are more successful when the development team can focus on architecting the technical solution and completing their development tasks.

Why is BA important?

Traditionally, in our technology driven business world, a large proportion of the changes and optimizations relate to software systems – and so teams in the organization responsible for creating, maintaining and delivering IT systems, are a primary focus. Conventionally, this has proven to be a difficult relationship, with challenging communication issues or mis-interpretations that often lead to wasted effort or scrapped projects. According to The Standish Group, this mis-communication can result in as much as 40% of the overall effort being wasted, on average.

What does a Business Analyst do?

What is often overlooked, however, is how a good business analyst maximizes the efficiency of the project team. While the development team works to define the technical direction and build the solution features, the business analyst works behind the scenes to provide timely information, clarify questions, remove roadblocks and ensure functional development is moving the project toward a successful conclusion.

For many customers, a software project can be very overwhelming. Often times, the customer is working to successfully complete the project on time and within budget, along with managing their everyday work obligations. Early in my career, I was always told “you are the voice of the business user”. A BA will serve as an advocate for the business users to limit the impact of their absence on the project. There are often multiple business users impacted by system changes and one may feel their business needs should take priority over the other. It is the role of the BA to successfully represent all business users and to ensure all opinions are heard, considered and represented when the users are not available to represent themselves. The BA is the main point of contact for the business users which enables the project manager and technical staff to focus on their task and the overall project goals.
