May is a National Pet Month 2022! – DDS Celebrates

Did you know that there are around 80 million animal family members in America? And over half of those homes have multiple children? National Pet Month takes place in May in the US. What a wonderful approach to recognize the importance of our dogs! Consider all of the amusing cat videos that they provide to our social media. Through educational initiatives and resources, National Pet Month celebrates and increases awareness of ethical pet ownership. NPM promotes pet ownership by highlighting the numerous advantages of our loyal animals.

Our president, Ebitari Larsen, owns two adorable pet dogs that form part of her family. She pampers her furry pets with motherly devotion and gives proper time and care to them. Meet the extremely dazzling and super-active Meeko and Oscar. Meeko is named after this lady’s Meeko and Oscar is named after this YouTube Vlogger The Stradman’s Samoyed dog named Oscar. Both dogs are brothers and they are one (1) year apart. They are of the Samoyed breed from Syberia. They are sled dogs normally. Meeko was born in November 2019 and Oscar was born in December of 2020.

DDS is a proud black woman-owned business and over the years we have raised our voices for the community on all platforms including churches, seminars or any public speaking event. Juneteenth means to black community is to what 4th of July means to all the Americans. The emancipation of thousands of enslaved in 1865 marks the beginning of Juneteenth. June 19, 2022 is the second annual federal holiday. Organizers across the country are holding a week-long celebration to mark the end of slavery in the United States and to expand the ongoing struggle for equality and justice. Although June 19 was recently declared a national holiday, many African American communities have celebrated it for generations. It took years of hard work to get federally approved holiday.

You can be a part of the grand celebration happening at Long Beach, CA: The Long Beach Juneteenth Celebration.

Juneteenth can be celebrated in a number of ways like hosting a backyard party, cooking traditional food, reading books about Juneteenth, visiting African American Heritage Museum, joining festivals, educating children about Juneteenth history, listening to black artists, supporting black-owned businesses and donating to the local NGOs like Black Lives Matter Long Beach.

Harriet Tubman very well said: Every dream begins with a dreamer. Juneteenth is not just a holiday has it has multiples emotions attached to it, of hope, of freedom of unity of basic human rights. It freed the souls of the innocent enslaved people and their generations to come. On this day, we remember the unending struggles and sacrifices of our ancestors who worked painstakingly on the road of freedom. Maya Angelou very well states in her poem:
