The Covid crises are not over yet and we all are fighting deliberately to get back to normal but would that normal be a new normal or old one? The pandemic has affected and jolted the businesses from the very roots to all branches, employers and employees alike. It has shifted the business’  power to the employees. Good talent is an enterprise’ asset and seeing all that walk out the door is challenging, but losing top workers is even harder — and happening quite often now. Also when great employees leave, productivity downplays, goodwill suffers, and colleagues are thrust with extra workloads. Ebitari is a keen reader of such articles that focuses on the corporate solutions and shares her readers.

DDS Celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month 2022

Your great strength is knowing who you are.” – Oscar de la Renta

From September 15 through October 15, Americans celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring the histories, cultures, and accomplishments of American citizens with ancestors from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. National Hispanic Heritage Month serves as a timely reminder of how much power we derive as a nation from our immigrant beginnings and our ideals as an immigrant nation.

We commemorate Hispanic heritage as American heritage during National Hispanic Heritage Month. We see it in every element of our national life: on our television and movie screens, in the music that gets us up and dancing, and in the foods we eat. We benefit from the numerous efforts of Hispanic scientists working in labs around the country to combat COVID-19, as well as the physicians and nurses on the front lines caring for people’s health.

Donate to Latino Community Foundation

To show support and celebrate the Hispanic Heritage Month 2022, DDS brings you these amazing ideas:

The celebration was created to recognize the positive impact that Hispanic Americans have left on the country. DDS is proud of its diverse team and nation on the whole. We support and encourage inclusion of people from all heritages. The colors that people bring to US makes it the most colorful, liberal and skillful nation with big heart that celebrates all cultures. Join the conversation on social media by sharing your own inspiration and learning more about Hispanic and Latino heritage by using #HispanicHeritageMonth.

The Best and Must Social Media Platforms for Your Business

Every month, a new social media channel pops up to involve the users with new features and give way for brands to launch their social media presence. It gets perplexed. If you need to create a TikTok account? or Reddit? Would Twitter Spaces work for your business? Businesses would be eager to be active on all the available social media channels but is that a valuable and actionable way to proceed?

You need to consider several factors for content preparation and social goals.

1. Facebook

Number of monthly users: 2.89 billion

Demographics: Men and women, ages 18-65 or older
Facebook provides you the opportunity to create a community out of your client base. On Facebook, brief postings like pictures, quizzes, videos, and competitions do incredibly well. You may notify your followers by sending them text updates as well.

2. Twitter

Number of monthly users: 4.48 billion

Demographics: Men and women, ages 18-49
Every business in the world has an account on Twitter to update its customers, and it receives millions of active users each month. This business-focused social network may not have the same widespread user base as Facebook, but it is undoubtedly one of the most open networks on the world.

3. Instagram
Number of monthly users: 1+ billion
Demographics: Men and women, ages 18-64
With a majority of its users under 25, Instagram is one of the newest social media platforms available. It is therefore the ideal social network for businesses or brands that cater to young, trendy clientele. On Instagram, images and brief videos with sparse text do incredibly well.

4. LinkedIn
Number of monthly users: 310+ million
Demographics: Men and women, ages 25-64
LinkedIn is the most professional social network available. It has a large professional network of employees and company owners, making it far more formal than other social media sites. Because of this, its users react to B2B material more
favorably than B2C content.

5. YouTube
Number of monthly users: 2+ billion
Demographics: Men and women, ages 18-65 and older
When you’re launching tutorials for your target market, YouTube works really well for product reviews, instructional videos, and other similar types. Additionally, after you upload a video, it will begin to appear in search results on Google and YouTube, and you may promote it on your other social media profiles.

DDS Wishes You a Very Happy Labor Day 2022

“No human masterpiece has been created without great labor.”

— Andre Gide

First Monday of September every year marks Labor Day. Because the holiday involves a long weekend, employees have come up with a variety of original ways to spend it. However, it is frequently enjoyed outside with family and close friends while doing things like swimming, grilling, and lighting off fireworks. Different households comes with different traditions, some like to stay at home, while others choose to take a quick excursion. We should pause to consider the purpose of this day while we take a vacation from work to spend time with our family and friends, finish up some errands, or just rest.

Follow these ways to celebrate Labor Day mindfully:

  • Plan a day trip to a farm or a factory tour in the fall.
  • Consider the presents you need to buy and look for American-made items.
  • Bake some cookies and deliver them to your local police or fire station.
  • Explain to a child the significance of Labor Day.
  • Purchase treats created in the United States for your pet.
  • Go on a "Made in USA" label-reading trip in the mall or in your own house.
  • And, of course, relax with a BBQ!!
May we create a work environment in which working people can earn a good income and enjoy a decent life? Labor Day provides an opportunity to reflect on how we may rebuild a world of labor that can once again serve as the foundation of a stable, thriving society with widespread prosperity. Whatever way you choose to celebrate, make sure to give yourself a pat on the back for all of your accomplishments. DDS has always and will always value team members for their labor and hard work in building the team and the company.

May 2021 COVID-19 Pandemic Message – Back to Life

Greetings! Since March when I last wrote you about seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, these past months have been very transitioning for the Covid-19 situation. 2021 has brought the ray of hope with the vaccination being made and supplied to the general public and I can see us getting back to life as we knew it now. Now, more than 50% of adult population in the United States have received first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine* and life is getting back to normal slowly and gradually

Although getting back to normal is hard, especially after a collective trauma, I see people everywhere gearing up to attend sports events, live concerts and enjoy the hot food served right in the restaurant even though we still prefer to eat on the patio. Here in the US, vaccination centers are seen actively taking part in ongoing mass immunization of the citizens. Luckily, Long Beach has opened up vaccinations to 16 and older** and now California is statewide making 12 and up eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine***.

I got my vaccine shot earlier this month ….Woo, hoo!!! The vaccine was by Johnson & Johnson (the infamous ‘one and done’ shot!) and was administered at the California State University Los Angeles by the military. I felt mixed emotions of joy (I felt grateful to be able to received the vaccine), loss (of this time at home with family in quarantine and the slowness of it all) and relief (we have lost so many loved ones during this challenging time and glad the deaths will finally subside) as I finally felt protected against the virus and safe to go out.. The vaccination staff had been very kind and fully equipped. My kids were so excited to see when I came home with a band aid on my right arm. I had a little pain and redness at the injection site and some discomfort overnight but no major issues, as some people experienced – I am so grateful.

The month of May is a blessed month and as summer approaches, we continue to be safe and diligent while grateful for the all the progress we’ve made and how far we’ve come. I would like to assure you that we at DDS we remained operational and continued to provide our impactful business services to clients, businesses, startups and non-profit organizations globally. We helped our clients to stay organized and connected to their workspace through our integrated software even when working from home.

Despite being vaccinated, I will continue to wear a mask and social distance and I request you to do the same until we attain herd immunity. Wishing positivity and safety to you as we are heading towards normal again.

With the warmest regards.

March 2021 COVID-19 Pandemic Message – Seeing the Light

Greeting to all our supporters in March 2021. It’s been almost a year since I wrote at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 and the wonderful reality is that we are starting to see the light at the end of the COVID-19 tunnel. There has been so much suffering and loss during this pandemic – from family and friends dying (over 500,000 in the US now***) to women being disproportionately impacted by the pandemic in terms of their work losses and other family-related impacts.*

But now, people are getting vaccinated and lots of them. In Long Beach, health care and emergency workers, teachers, food and grocery workers are vaccinated and people over 65 are  being vaccinated right now as well as people 16 to 64 with disabilities**. With the vaccine comes hope and optimism again. My sons just had his 10th birthday and people are really ready to get together again. His friends and their families, wore masks and hung out outside and everyone seemed to be breathing out in relief.

My daughter talked me into making a balloon arch for my son’s birthday parade. It was the first balloon arch I had made and I went for it with gusto wanting to make my son’s 10th birthday memorable even in light of the pandemic. What the arch reminded me of was just this hopefulness that is coming back into the air.

I’m sending you lots of encouragement and comfort during this time. Let’s all go ‘through’ the pain and feel the real pain of the devastation of this pandemic. At the same time, Easter is round the corner, people are getting vaccinated and a new world is developing. Let’s allow ourselves to be relieved and breathe ‘out’ and feel the hope.

Thinking of you and wishing you all the best during this difficult time.

Ebitari’s COVID-19 Message for the DDS May 2020 Newsletter

Good day friends, clients, vendors and supporters of DDS,

We last sent this newsletter with a COVID-19 message from me on March 18th, 2020. So much has happened since then; we have been asked to shelter in place which has increased working from home, schools are all on mobile learning for the indefinite future, nonessential businesses, like retail, have been closed except from mail and pick up orders, restaurants are only allowed to function on delivery and take out orders, and everyone is required to wear masks in businesses (in California at least).

Now, a month and a half later, governments are starting to address reopening and we are all talking about how to resume back to normal life. I am active in my church serving on the board of elders; our head pastor and a team of staff have come up with a ‘faithful phasing’ plan as are most prepared organizations, planning how to go back to seeing each other in person, something many of miss and find essential to a good life.

At DDS, we are fortunate that our work is mostly remote and we support our clients all over the world using technology to facilitate communication and collaboration. DDS staff have always had the option to work on a flexible schedule and to work from home or the office or a combination of both according to what will make them most productive and able to achieve their requirements. This policy has served us well during the COVID-19 crisis as we have been set up for remote work and able to assist our clients and other members of community without any loss in momentum.

As I said in March, crisis like these are always an important reminder of the resilience and awe of the human spirit … it is a great blessing to be born human. In these times, we have the opportunity to see humans at their best serving others and working together to make each of our lives better. The following blogs are about some of the ways we are dealing with COVID-19 and seeing our community deal with it. I hope you continue to stay strong, stay resilient, see the good in everything and I hope you enjoy the newsletter.

With great appreciation for all you do for this world,
