DDS Wishes You a Spooky Halloween 2021!

Halloween is just around the corner and everybody seem to be excited about the spooky season planning which outfit to wear. Kids love the magic of Halloween. Many communities canceled their celebrations last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So, is it safe to trick-or-treat this year? As most of the US is now vaccinated we feel to take the celebration in full swing while still saying cautious and wearing our Halloween masks. Halloween is a holiday celebrated each year on October 31, and Halloween 2021 will occur on Sunday, October 31. The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts.*

What’s more essential to a holiday celebration than a party? Well, Halloween parties range from small family dinner, to school bashes with parades, to community gatherings. Parties have a theme of black, orange, and purple along with silly or spooky decor. Then it’s all about the entertainment. Put on a horror movie, get dancing and walk in the streets in a scary attireAt DDS, we have such a diverse group of people here, Halloween is a holiday that everyone can celebrate together, making it an important one for employee engagement and morale, As Halloween is full of hustle and bustle we request the parents to safeguard their children and guide them to only visit neighborhood with an adult to ensure safety.

At DDS we celebrate Halloween with our families trick-or-treating, carving jack-o-lanterns, festive gatherings, donning costumes and eating treats. Today Halloween is far more popular in North America than anywhere else. Halloween has always been a holiday filled with mystery, magic and superstition. It is a good way to have fun scaring ourselves – just a little bit – as the nights get longer and the days get colder.

So let’s carve the pumpkins. Happy Halloween everyone!

Its Juneteenth 2022! A Celebration of Freedom by DDS

"If you are tired, keep going. If you are scared, keep going. If you are hungry, keep going. If you want to taste freedom, keep going."
Harriet Tubman

DDS is a proud black woman-owned business and over the years we have raised our voices for the community on all platforms including churches, seminars or any public speaking event. Juneteenth means to black community is to what 4th of July means to all the Americans. The emancipation of thousands of enslaved in 1865 marks the beginning of Juneteenth. June 19, 2022 is the second annual federal holiday. Organizers across the country are holding a week-long celebration to mark the end of slavery in the United States and to expand the ongoing struggle for equality and justice. Although June 19 was recently declared a national holiday, many African American communities have celebrated it for generations. It took years of hard work to get federally approved holiday.

You can be a part of the grand celebration happening at Long Beach, CA: The Long Beach Juneteenth Celebration

Juneteenth Long Beach Celebration

Juneteenth can be celebrated in a number of ways like hosting a backyard party, cooking traditional food, reading books about Juneteenth, visiting African American Heritage Museum, joining festivals, educating children about Juneteenth history, listening to black artists, supporting black-owned businesses and donating to the local NGOs like Black Lives Matter Long Beach.

Read "On Juneteenth" by Annette Gordon-Reed

Harriet Tubman very well said: Every dream begins with a dreamer. Juneteenth is not just a holiday has it has multiples emotions attached to it, of hope, of freedom of unity of basic human rights. It freed the souls of the innocent enslaved people and their generations to come. On this day, we remember the unending struggles and sacrifices of our ancestors who worked painstakingly on the road of freedom. Maya Angelou very well states in her poem:

"You may write me down in history

With your bitter, twisted lies,

You may trod me in the very dirt

But still, like dust, I’ll rise."

DDS Takes Times to Reflect on Memorial Day 2022

Memorial Day weekend is just around the corner, so fire up the grills, get your flags out, and put on some sunscreen! All of these festive indicators are certain to have you excited for the holidays. After all, the long weekend often kicks off summer cookouts and provides an opportunity to relax and unwind with friends and family at the beach. Memorial Day weekend is about far more than get togethers, barbecues, and families. That Monday is a solemn day dedicated to commemorating and appreciating the millions of Americans who have served in uniform and sacrificed their lives for their nation. The true essence of Memorial Day is to honor those brave women and men who made extraordinary sacrifices.

We believe there is nothing nobler than risking your life for your country, DDS pays tribute to our heroes this Memorial Day with utmost respect and gratitude. This Memorial Day, DDS remembers our President, Ebitari Larsen’s beloved father-in-law who served in the U.S. Navy dedicating his life to the nation.

In memory of Navy Serviceman, Dwight Larsen, pictured with Ebitari Larsen.

Memorial Day Message from Ebitari Larsen

Ebi in honor of those who have given their lives for our country, liberty and freedoms, she asks that we remember them by caring for all God’s children and not just the ones in our own vehicles. We need to slow down in our driving and not just care about the children safely buckled up in their car seats inside our cars. We need to care about the ones outside our car, running around in the park, in the school yard, or in their front lawn … all God’s children …, not just mine, but all. If we can care for all children, then perhaps we can forget our differences a little and look out for all our children and focus on the children instead of our differences … and certainly drive a little slower in the neighborhoods, around parks and schools.

On Memorial Day, at 3 p.m. local time, a nationwide minute of silence is held to honor the war dead. This is the day we pay homage to all those who didn’t come home. To honor Memorial’s day DDS is offering an exclusive 15% discount on all services valid from May 27 – June 15. DDS Shares a Thankful Message on Veteran’s Day 2021
(Discount Coupon Inside)

On November 11, we celebrate Veterans Day. It’s our chance to salute the 18 million veterans* of the U.S. Armed Forces and show our appreciation for the sacrifices they make to protect our country. My father-in-law was in the Navy, before he passed away on 9/11/2019. I hold a special place in my heart for Veterans Day. This year like every year Veteran’s Day reminds me of the sacrifices that the armed forces make, every day to keep us safe and keep peace throughout the world.

This year like every other year, I remember my father-in-law, Dwight Larsen greatly on Veteran’s Day. He passed away on September 11th, 2019. My husband and our entire family miss him greatly. Dwight served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was an officer and a gentleman, a devoted husband, dedicated father, and lover of God and what God loves; being justice, kindness, compassion and mercy.

-Ebitari Larsen

Happy 4th of July! On America’s Birthday, You Get a Discount

The 4th of July marks the US Independence Day, therefore it is undoubtedly America’s most loved holiday! This day is filled with celebrations, parade, historical memories and vacations. One of the most colorful and exciting festivities of the year, it’s a chance for reunion with friends, family and enjoying the delicious summer cuisines with Rock N Roll music. For those taking the day traditionally with patriotism, there’s a color code to follow. The color code is wearing red, white, and blue. These are the national colors and constitute great values. The red represents strength and vigor. The white represents virtue and morality. The blue is for determination, watchfulness, and equality.

Fireworks are extremely loved on Independence Day, and you can catch those colors in the sky right in Long Beach, visit Fourth of July Fireworks in Long Beach. No Independence Day is complete without parade, Long Beach hosts great parades and Justin Rubb is hosting 2022 Great American 4th of July Kid’s Bike Parade. If you are a party lover who enjoys celebrating the freedom with some music, catch the Cruise Brunch: Deep House Brunch 4TH OF JULY Boat Party ft. Miguel Migs. Other than the outdoor activities you can enjoy cooking some delicious themed desserts like Trifles and cakes or cater a backyard BBQ lunch. Wow! Mouth-watering…

DDS celebrates the day with full zeal and zest, filling the world with red, white, and blue. Our team members spend the long weekend with family preparing Hamburgers on grills, watching parades and fireworks. We bring you the patriotism-filled offering for the Independence Day. To make your Independence Day more happening DDS is giving an exclusive discount by offering 15% off on all services from 4th July till 15th July. Use the coupon below to avail the 15% discount. Ebitari’s Thanksgiving Holiday 2020 Message

Ebitari’s November Pandemic Message

Good day to all our newsletter readers,

This is Delta Data Services last newsletter of the year. We send it our around Thanksgiving time and use it as an opportunity to thank all our present and past clients, vendors and supporters. Thank you for being an important part of our community. We are indebted and grateful.

Well, it looks like 2020 will be known as the year of the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve spent most of the year adjusting to this new reality. With many of the adjustments to the pandemic expected to stick as best practices after the pandemic is over, others are calling it the new normal.

While there is much cause for hope with two vaccines developed, these vaccines will not be in distribution to the general population for a few more months. Some states, like California, are shutting down again as there is in a increase in cases in the state due to the Halloween holiday. Close to home in Long Beach, residents are stocking up on supplies again in expectation of a second wave of restrictions.

As we go into the Thanksgiving holiday it is looking a lot different than it has in the past. Some of us are not seeing the family we are used to spending time with. Many of us will be staying close to home and battening down the hatches, maybe watching lots of movies, reading books and listening to music as a family. Whatever this time of year looks like for you, please remember it is an important holiday; perhaps one of the most important of the year. This is because, regardless of religious or spiritual inclination, we can all agree that gratitude is important.

I love what Oprah Winfrey has to say about gratitude that ‘what you focus on expands’. She was saying that if we focus on what we are grateful for, then that will expand. I aim to see what there is to be grateful for in my life all the time; just waking up to a new day is a humongous blessing as is every breath.

I like to recall this quote from Konrad von Gesner:

Let there be

for every

pulse

a thanksgiving

and for

every breath

a song

Here’s wishing you an enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday no matter what it looks like. At Delta Data Services, we are thinking of and praying for you.

Ebitari Larsen,

President, Delta Data Services

Trick or treat, a bag of sweets, ghosts are walking down the street

With carved pumpkins brightening sidewalk stoops, skeleton decorations cobbled together on leaf-covered lawns, and teeth-chattering weather beginning to chill areas of the United States, the Halloween season is approaching its peak. The moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived: pumpkins aplenty, candy aplenty, and costumes both charming and terrifying. So take your flashlight, a pumpkin bucket, and your favorite neighbor to locate the tastiest sweets and spooky houses in your area!

DDS love celebrating Halloween. From trick-or-treating with neighbors, to getting into the spirit of decorating, and sharing a sweet treat or two with other ghouls and goblins, it’s one of the most neighborly holidays of them all.
